Someone at work asked an intriguing question today.
"If you were to get on a plane today and the captain was to announce that there was a 99.9% chance that the plane would not land safely, would you stay on the plane?"
We went further to discuss what percentage people would be comfortable with. The votes didn't drop below 80%.
What percentage would you be willing to risk?

A 99.9% chance that the plane would not land safely? Meaning there is only a .1% chance that it would? I would definitely not stay on the plane.
I wonder what the actual percentage of "landing safely" is? I get on a plane fairly regularly and have never thought to ask myself that question. Hmmm.
